Retired Martin County Principal & School Board Member
Victoria Defenthaler retired after a 40- year career in public education. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education and a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration and Supervision. In her earlier years, she taught elementary and middle school; later, she worked at the district level as a Mainstream Consultant and District Program Specialist. After serving 16 years as the principal at national award-winning Bessey Creek Elementary, Victoria served on the Martin County School Board for four years. Currently she is a member of the American Association of University Women (AAUW), the Tykes & Teens board and the advisory committees of the Boys & Girls Club Character Counts program and the Sexual Assault Assistance Program of the Treasure Coast. Victoria continues to advocate for students, teachers, and public education as co-chair of the Connected Martin Education Committee.
