President of the Martin County Teachers Association
Matt Theobald is a veteran of the classroom, having taught Social Studies at his alma mater, Martin County High School for the past 14 years prior to becoming the full-time President of the Martin County Education Association.
Matt was born and raised in Martin County, and he is a proud product of our public school system. Matt is also a graduate of Indian River State College and Florida State University, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s Degree in Applied American Politics and Policy. While in graduate school, Matt served as a staff aide to U.S. Senator Bob Graham, and later, he went on the serve as a legislative aide in the Florida House of Representatives before returning to Martin County.
Matt is proud to call this area home, and he considers it an honor to be the voice of the teachers in his hometown school district, many of whom were his teachers here.
