John has been working in the Real Estate business for his entire life. As a child and teenager his father – one of the first licensed Florida Real Estate Brokers – would take John on his appointments to preview homes, development sites, and buildings throughout South Florida and the Treasure Coast.
Gonzalez was taught to love and value the entire real estate sales process. His early career was in site sales for a development in Hobe Sound. In the mid-1980s, He went into banking and became proficient in the mortgage and real estate financing sectors. In the early 1990s, moving to Martin County, he opened his own business that grew to be very successful in the food service industry.
Later, John became an investment advisor and the vice president of a large regional bank. He started selling real estate again in 2003 as a sales associate working with several firms and one auction company before acquiring a broker’s license and starting what became Sailfish Realty of Florida, and eventually Engel & Völkers Stuart.
With his diverse background in real estate sales, Gonzalez has sold large parcels of land, commercial buildings, and residential homes. Home sales have included small starter homes for $60,000 to private estate homes valued over $3 million.
As the managing broker of Engel & Völkers Stuart, John Gonzalez has always maintained that the client’s best interests are the priority in all discussions. Whether a buyer or seller, it is his primary goal to keep clients well informed of the market conditions and provide them with the expertise they need to make an informed real estate decision.
